Joseph Wooten was given The Outstanding Virginia Musician Award for 2021 for outstanding contributions to music performance and education in The Commonwealth of Virginia and across the nation.
VMEA has established the Awards Programs that recognizes service, achievements and contributions to music education for current active members, retired members, and for non-members who show their support for local music programs.
The purpose of these awards is to recognize the outstanding achievements and contributions of our members and those people who have a positive impact on our profession. Awards are presented at conference each year.
